Desulfurization net

Our desulfurization net makes sure the complete biogas installation remains sulphur free as much as possible. In biogas there is a lot of sulphur, which is very harmful for the complete biogas installation (especially the engine). Our net has been made out of very strong PE material, with a maze width of 10 x 10 cm. When the sulphur reacts with the oxygen inside the tank, the sulphur attaches itself to the net. After a while, the sulphur becomes a chunk and falls into the slurry, where it is not harmful anymore.

Lower gas values

Our desulfurization net is able to lower the values of sulphur in the gas to around 100 or 200 PPM. The amount of desulphurisation is depending on the amount of sulphur already in the gas and the desulfurization value of the net. The desulfurization value will get better the longer the net is in use. At the start-up of the biogas production the net can be made ‘dirty’ (with some dry manure or straw) to create more surface for the sulphur to attach to and to make sure the process of desulfurization is started. Once the sulphur (yellow blocks) is attached to the net the process is started. The bacteria in the sulphur and the bigger surface will make sure the desulfurization gets better every day.

It is important to know that the gas only comes through the net once. So during this encounter with the net, the desulfurization should take place. When there are more tanks on the same site, it is wise (for the desulfurization) to connect them. You should have a pipe, above the net, to suck out the gas from the first tank. This pipe should end in the second tank, below the net. This way the gas from the first tank will come across 2 nets. This will of course make a better desulfurization.
