What is a biogas digester?

Are you looking for a biogas digester? MSE can help you! A biogas digester is a big tank in which you can store gasses like for example biogas or carbon dioxide. Biogas on average consists of about 60% methane, 35% carbon dioxide and some other rest gasses. In a methane digester, you can store your biogas and take it out at any time you want. Biogas can be used to provide heat, generate electricity or many other uses. The biogas digester is a technology which generates biogas from manure. The bio digester breaks down solid waste to turn it into natural gas, this process is called anaerobic digestion (since the waste is broken down into natural gas in absence of oxygen).

Methane digesters

These methane digesters, or biogas digesters, are covered with a double membrane cover which is blown up with air. The shape of these biogas digesters is why some people call it balloon biogas digesters. In these balloon biogas digesters, the gas is stored at the top, the balloon part. To keep the bio digesters in shape we use three components: blowers, air supply system, air relief system. The blower blows air between the inner membrane and the outer membrane and the air supply and air relief system make sure the pressure between these membranes are regulated.
In standard situations the pressure in the methane digesters should be between -1,0 and +5,0 mBar. The pressure can be regulated by over- and under pressure valves. The over- and under pressure valves make sure the gas pressure in the methane digester does not exceed the pressure limit.
Commercial biogas digesters can be used for anaerobic digestion installations in for example the agricultural market or industrial wastewater treatment plants. We always make sure we deliver a complete product which is safe and of a high quality. The biogas digesters are 100% high frequency welded and obtainable up until a diameter of 50 meters. The installation is always done by our own experienced and skilled installation and service crew, who will install the digesters completely, so you have nothing to worry about.

Efficient Biogas Digesters for Sustainable Energy Solutions

A biogas digester, also known as a methane digester or bio digester, stands as a vital component within anaerobic digestion systems. This technology serves as a large tank where organic materials undergo breakdown by microorganisms in the absence of oxygen, resulting in the production of biogas. This versatile biogas digester system offers a sustainable solution for managing organic waste, including manure or food residues, by converting it into valuable energy sources.

Expert Solutions from Membrane Systems Europe B.V.

At Membrane Systems Europe B.V. (MSE), we excel in producing and installing covering systems tailored for biogas digesters. Our double membrane covers, often referred to as biogas digester(s), are inflated with air, creating a reliable storage structure reminiscent of a balloon. This innovative construction ensures efficient storage of the produced biogas, which can be harnessed for various applications.
Maintaining a biogas digester demands precise control over the pressure between its inner and outer membranes. To achieve this, we employ specialized components such as blowers, an air supply system, and an air relief system, ensuring the biogas digester operates optimally throughout its lifecycle.

Our biogas digester(s) find application across diverse sectors, including agriculture and industrial wastewater treatment plants, offering a reliable and efficient solution for producing and storing biogas. At MSE, we are committed to delivering high-quality biogas digester systems tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients, contributing to a more sustainable future.
