Are you looking for storage of biogas or carbon dioxide? Membrane Systems Europe has the perfect solution. The Membrane Systems Europe (MSE) biogas dome or biogas balloon is a system for the storage of biogas, carbon dioxide or other possible gases.

The system consists of an internal membrane, an external membrane and a bottom membrane. The gas is stored between the internal membrane and the bottom membrane. The ventilator / air blower provides the air pressure between the internal membrane and external membrane. This air pressure makes sure that the external membrane holds its shape in order to withstand wind and snow loads. Gas can be stored or taken away without changing the shape of the external membrane.

The MSE biogas balloon is installed on a concrete basis. Pressure valves, and a level measurement system are always included in the scope of supply. On request methane detectors, control panels or even lightning diversion systems can be supplied.

Storage of biogas with pressures up to 50 mBar

The biogas can be stored up to pressures of 80 mBar. Storage volumes vary from 20 m3 to 10.000 m3. The MSE biogas balloon has a ¾ or hemisphere shape. The hemisphere shape allows limited pressures (for example 5 mBar for gas-storage) where the ¾ Biogas balloon / dome can be applied for higher gas pressures (minimum 5 mBar up to 80 mBar).

Like all MSE products the Biogas domes / balloons are 100% high frequency welded, giving the best welding quality possible. The high frequency welding guarantees a significantly longer lifespan than product welded by hot air. MSE applies reinforced technical textile PVC membranes with the lowest gas permeability possible. The industrial high frequency welding process ensures a constant welding quality. The high frequency is better resistant against very low temperatures (-20 degrees Celsius) and very high temperatures (+70 degrees Celsius).

The storage systems are used for biogas installations in the agricultural market, water treatment plants and industrial applications.
